DEPUTY SPEIR, School Resource Officer at La Quinta High School
Deputy Eric D. Speir has been employed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for 15 years. He has worked 4 1/2 years in corrections and was then assigned to the Indio Station where he served the communities of La Quinta, Bermuda Dunes, Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Northshore, and Indio Hills. Deputy Speir is the School Resource Officer assigned to the La Quinta High School. La Quinta High School is a large campus with a population of approximately three thousand students located at 79255 Westward Ho Dr. Deputy Speir is a positive roll model for the students and is proactive in his duties at the high school. Deputy Speir is also a member of the Youth Accountability Team and works in conjunction with the Juvenile Probation Department and the District Attorney's Office. Deputy Speir assists the school administration with security issues and participates in school related functions. He is also actively involved with the Public Service Academy at the high school.

DEPUTY MOORE, School Resource Officer at La Quinta Middle School
Deputy Moore, who has been with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for 5 ½ years, is in his first year as the school resource officer at the La Quinta Middle School. His first responsibility is to the middle school, which has a student body of 980 students. He also takes care of three elementary schools, Truman, Adams and Ben Franklin in La Quinta with a combined student body of 1,800 students. In the elementary schools, Deputy Moore's primary function is that of a teacher. He conducts safety programs, "Say No to Drugs" conversation groups and acts as a role model. Occasionally he will respond to a school for an unruly student. At the middle school Deputy Moore works with a Probation Officer, and together, they are part of the Youth Accountability Team, (Y.A.T.) program. Deputy Moore also works hand-in-hand with the schools administration and staff. Not only is he the law enforcement Officer on campus, but also a counselor and teacher.
DEPUTY HENDRY, School Resource Officer
Deputy Tom Hendry has been employed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for eight and a half years. He began his career by working two years in corrections at the Indio Jail. Deputy Hendry was then assigned to the Indio Station where he has served the communities of La Quinta, Bermuda Dunes, Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Northshore, and Indio Hills. Deputy Hendry is currently the School Resource Officer assigned to Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle School and Summit High School. Deputy Hendry works with the Youth Accountability Team, the Juvenile Probation Department and the District Attorney's Office. Deputy Hendry works together with school administration to minimize security issues to ensure the safety of the students.
